3 Great Methods for Earning Cash in Red Dead Redemption 2! (NO SPOILERS)

The Best Ways to Earn Money!

There is a ton of ways to make money in Red Dead 2, today were going to go over the best ways to earn some serious money in Red Dead Redemption 2. Lets dive right into it. No Spoilers will be included in this article.

Play The Story!

Number 1 : Play the Story! Throughout the whole story you do tons of things to receive money, from robbery’s to just helping a friend complete a task. You do a number of larger heist in the story that can net you anywhere between $500 – $10,000 and we both know 10,000 is a lot in this game. This is the most simple way tho, but its something I had to mention.

Be an outlaw!

Number 2 : One of the best ways and the most fun way I can think of to get money in Red Dead Redemption 2, is simply be an outlaw. Robbing trains seems to be the best way out of the main story to earn some decent cash, there are a few great methods to do this but its really simple. All you have to do is get onto a train that is moving, and begin robbing it. You need about 5 sticks of dynamite to blow open the safes on board tho, there are 3 safes and they tend to have higher tier items.

Here is a video of YouTuber Dat SaintsFan robbing a train! His method works really well, and we’ve tested it multiple times to great success minus the horse falling of the tracks a few times and bounty hunters actually following me onto the tracks.

Going Treasure Hunting!

Number 3 : There is a bunch of hidden treasure in
Red Dead Redemption 2, and you can find it. Most of the time it has golden bars or some other sort of highly valuable item. You get your first treasure chest from a random encounter in the game with a treasure hunter. The rest of the maps will be found with the previous treasure. This means if you find treasure 1, there will be a map there for treasure 2 and so on. Finding treasure also gives you extra things like free carriage rides as you progress through the treasure hunter rank. This is a long but fun process to earn money, and enjoy the treasure finding Rockstar has added to the game.

Methods You Should Avoid

This is going to include a few methods, but most of them are not to good and can take up a lot of time.  Its best you avoid these if you’re looking for a quick buck.

Hunting : This always seems like the route to go in games but unless you master hunting you wont make much as the skins get damage easily and the meat spoils fast. Hunting rare animals is a good idea tho. This will make income and unlock awesome outfits! Just make sure you sell the skins to a trapper.

Stealing Horses : This method is pretty horrible. If you do not have papers for a horse you will only receive a few bucks max and horse stolen cannot be sold at a nearby stable. You will have to travel lengths in order to sell it.

Stealing Carriages : You will eventually be able to fence carriages in the game. This is not really worth it tho as even the most fancy of carriage only brings in about $25 in game.

Is that all?

You can do a few other things, but the money you made was not worth us even mentioning due to it being so slow, or possibly a glitch. The methods above are probably the best in the game to get some money into your pockets rather it be late game or early game. We hope you enjoyed our guide on making money in Red Dead Redemption 2. Now go get to earning that hard cash.
